Chinese, European astronauts complete sea survival training

JINAN, Aug. 21 (Xinhua) - A gathering of 16 Chinese and two European space travelers finished ocean survival preparing in waters off the shoreline of Yantai in east China's Shandong Territory Monday.

The 17-day joint program was the first run through Chinese space travelers have directed survival preparing adrift.

Composed by the Space explorer Focus of China (ACC), the program was intended to get ready space travelers with aptitudes including leaving the container themselves, survival adrift and save.

"I am extremely upbeat to work with Chinese space travelers," said Matthias Josef Maurer from Germany. "I would like to have more chances to come to China and join the preparation."

Maurer and Italian Samantha Cristoforetti were the main gathering of outside space travelers to join Chinese preparing since China presented its kept an eye on space program in 1992.

China has consented to different collaboration arrangements with nations, for example, Russia, Germany and France, and associations including the European Space Office (ESA) and Joined Countries Office for Space Undertakings, as indicated by China Kept an eye on Space Building Office.

"The preparation program has given profitable experience to leading universal collaboration in the field of kept an eye on spaceflight," said Huang Weifen, vice president planner of the ACC.
