Manila, Philippines (FN), Nov. 13 – Cambodian Leader Hun Sen asked for U.S President Donald Trump to consider turning the obligation that Cambodia owes to the U.S amid the 1970s war as an improvement help.
The ask for was made at the 30th ASEAN Summit and Related Gatherings in Manila, Philippines on Tuesday.
"I might likewise want to express to your Excellency that I used to talk this obligation issue with President Obama. You bombarded us and you asked for us to pay the obligation. We ask for that the U.S President Trump might consider transforming Cambodia's obligation into improvement help rather," said PM Hun Sen.
"It appeared like the U.S utilized a sledge to beat us and need us to pay for the mallet. When we were youthful, we didn't recognize what did they do and for what reason did they purchased the weapons to battle in Cambodia. Amid Lon Nol administration (18 Walk 1970-17 April 1975), Cambodian government had obtained more than $200 million from the U.S to help Lon Nol to battle against the Khmer Rouge.
